I came across this interesting article about the famed sailplane built
by Allied POWs in the Colditz fortress prison during WWII. Also
includes free
plans for a towline scale model of the craft.

Does anyone have a recollection of the 1971 movie based on the wartime
events?

Looks like the factual retelling would make a riveting documentary for
television or theatrical release...

Phil,
There is already an excellent documentary on Colditz and the glider produced as
an episode of NOVA on PBS.
It includes the story of the group that built a full scale recreation of the
glider and flew it.
