Does anyone know of a place where you can still buy a pin board that you
place your AMA or Club membership card over the number when in use. I think
the ones that I had seen before came from COOLPINS ? I can not find that
company anymore.

We are also looking for plans for  "starting stands or work tables". The
kind that allows the leading edge of the wings to rest against a framework
while starting.
We also would use the tables while working on helicopters.

Thanks in advance,
Neal Hayes

==================================
The AMA magazine had plans for a starting stand sometime in 2002 or 2003.
Here's a link to a photo of one at our field:

We have 12 of these at the field.

Neal,

If you make the tables shown in the AMA article, I suggest that you
raise the table height to 32" (More ergonomic, and better for old
timers with bad backs, like me). Add length to the upright wing-stop
to accommodate larger scale planes (cut these from 10 footers, rather
than 8s). We used plumbing pipe foam insulation for padding on the
uprights. We found the shelf/hangar on the sides of the table to be a
little awkward to hang a flight box. A shelf or stool 18" off the
ground would work better. It cost us about $40 per table to make,
using pressure treated deck wood. It is worth the extra cost, they
look as good today as they did when we made them. We also have regular
tables for twin engine models. We mounted a 2X4 with a line of holes
drilled to receive 3/4" PVC pipe (also padded) on one end of the
table. This makes them adjustable for width of the fuse near the tail.
It works well for my P-38, and my friend's B-25. It also allows
tricycle gear to remain level during starting, unlike a string tied to
the tail.

I will be looking for an answer to the frequency pin question. I have
not seen an advertisement in some time either (and we need some).
