Hi Mike,
It's a very good starting point and well worth the outlay.
Has saved me lots of guess work and I use it so often I would
lost with out it.
The best thing is that it can tell me motor, gearbox and battery set-ups
that are certainly not suitable.
Each time I have used it on a new model or when converting an airframe from
IC to electric the plane fly's very well.
Go for it !!!!
John.

Its the best there is, BUT its ONLY as accurate as

(i) its data

(ii) Its assumptions.

Both are often inaccurate in a given situation.

Its a tool, not a solution. Your question is tantamount to asking 'how
accurate is a spindle moulder?' and the answer is of course 'in teh
hands of someone who knows how to use it, on suitable wood, better than
0.1mm, in the hands of a rank amateur on cast iron, probably to the
nearests 5 inches, if indeed the operatorr or machine survive the abuse'

Its only $30 from memory - get it, and then join teh E-zone
(www.ezonemag.com) and hang out till you understand better what its
tellingf yiou.

I have used it on only one model - a Tracer kit converted to electric.  The
plane uses a 6S3P pack made up of 1500 mAH packs.

It was very good.  The motor (an AXI 4120-18) and prop (APC 12x8 electric)
drew 30 A at 21.2V instead of 30.5A at 21.4V.  My biggest problem is that
MotoCalc did not have a battery model for the cells I used, so I had to
guess.

The plane flies beautifully.  Since the CG never moves, I could put it where
it belonged.

For $35.00, MotoCalc is a steal.
