I have a trainer with what I believe to be a .65 size Thunder Tiger engine
up front. The markings on the engine are 65 on the right side and GP SE on
the left, with the TT logo. I am attempting to get this engine running but
am finding that only 1/4 turn is required on the needle to get to the proper
mixture for running. This bothers me quite alot, since my other 9 models
require anywhere from 1 to 1.5 turns on the needle.
Is this typical for these engines, or does this suggest something wrong with
the needle taper or other carb component?
TIA,
Jake McKernan

If the engine is running properly don't worry about the setting. Actual
needle settings can very quite a bit from brand to brand and type.

I did a Google search and came up with what I expected .....6.5cc or .40ci
most likely a 40 because I could find no info on Thunder Tiger 65
