I've got a DeBolt Model Engineering Company (DMECO) 34" span Livewire
Kitten.  A design from the early '50s, originally it was single channel for
.049 nitro.  (It was a novelty for the time, using a tube (valve) regen
receiver using several 22.5 volt photo flash batteries for R/F, AA pen
cells for valve filaments and rubber-band powered escapement for rudder
activation.)

I figured it would be a natural for electric since it was originally
designed for a nowadays considered heavy flight system.  I will be using a
NIMH flight pack.

Would the Great Planes® ElectriFly’s™ RimFire™ 22M-1000 brushless motor be
a good motor to power it with?  I'm planning to go 3-channel.  Also I want
to go at least one up on the recommended 8-Amp brushless ESC.

Is this a proper way to go, or should I consider another power pack to go
with?

TIA.

most 049s are replaceable by speed 400 (about 80W in, 50W out) type
power trains.

Already been done --

E-version published in Flying Models Magazine some years ago. I'm sure you
could update the powerplant to modern technology.
