I can't get enough exhaust pressure to pressurise the fuel tank when
using a cline regulator on a Saito 180. Has anyone else had the same
problem?
I have change the one-way valve and made sure it is installed correctly
but still have the problem.

I have a Saito 82 and it works fine.

I would contact the maker of the regulator. He's probably diagnosed every
possible permutation of a problem with his product.

Where is the pressure tap located on the muffler?  Stock location, or did you
add one yourself?

If it is stock, if you can stand a little reduction in performance, try adding a
addition tube on the exhaust outlet.  A little back pressure might be all it
needs.

A tuned pipe could do the trick, too, if the tap is put in the right place.

The pressure tap is located on the Muffler as standard and Yes it does
appear to be too little back pressure to open the one-way valve. I
could install a new outlet in the manifold before the silencer to see I
get the required pressure.

Hello,

On my Saito  FA-56, I use also a Cline regulator. Instead of the stock
one way valve (small pinched neoprene tube/brass insert), I use a YS
one. This one is a real one way valve and I had no problem to
pressurise my tank.

On your big 180, muffler pressure is certainly more than adequate. You
may try to slightly bore the tap, but a good oneway valve is a must.

Bye,

I would have thought the 180 should have plenty of ex pressure. I agree
with you on the stock one way valve it only need a bit of oil to block
it and then you have  a dead stick on your hands. I have ordered 2 x ys
valves and will drill out the tap.

Thanks for the info
