Part 9
You now can join the wing halves. I discarded the plywood formers that
came with the kit and used ¼ inch aircraft ply. Much stronger. After
the epoxy has cured, mount the engines and hook up the throttle
linkage. I chose to use a single servo for each engine and that may
have not been a good idea since it was a bitch to set the mix program
on Futaba 9C. You will need to go to the Futaba web site and look for
FAQ 23. This lays out the programming steps for you. If you have
another type of radio, good luck! I took the plane to the field today
(8/28) to break in the engines since they were brand new Magnum 46's.
They started right up and ran smoothly for new engines. I ran two
tanks of fuel thru each and found that you'll have an easy 15 minutes
of flying with the 11 oz tanks. No, I did not fly today as there was
still CG work to do and setting the right throws on the control
surfaces. I will do that tonight. I still have one radio programming
problem and that is the kill switch. It only kills the primary engine
(channel 3) and still haven't figured out how to mix 3 and 7 so they
both shut off. I called Futaba and the guy on the phone was less than
helpful so I wrote a detailed email and am waiting for a response.

"Ted" PS: anyone know how to filter out all this MI5 garbage?
What do you use for your newsgroup reading? That answer is key to telling
you how to deal with it.
