Does anyone know if there would be a problem using cell phones to
transmit and receive data if 8 phones are closely packed together?

Thanks, Goan

could be. Transmitter of one might overload the receiver of another..but
maybe they sort themselves out and wait for each to speak. I never
figured how you can have a sensitive receiver in the same band as a
500mW transmitter sharing the same antenna..so its possible allright..

45mhz between TX and RX IIRC on a cell phone

An odd question.  Especially when asked here.

Depends on the cell phone and the bands used.  Could be more, could be
less.

It's also quite likely that digital cell phones (i.e. anything modern)
generally don't transmit and receive at the same time -- they'll
transmit for a few miliseconds, then receive for a few miliseconds,
etc.

45 MHz seperation at 1000 (or whatever) MHz is quite a lot, actually.
It's not like you'll require the big duplexers a 2 meter ham radio
repeater needs for the 600 KHz seperation.
