Hi again all

Well I saw and bought the Garrat last night. It is in pretty rough nick but
all salvageable with time and effort. I am a bit concerned that some parts
may be missing and that some of the work will be beyond my current skills. I
don't want to bugger this up as it is an important addition to my collection
so am wondering if I can gain any assistance/advice. I am in/near Melbourne
(Kilmore) and would be able to bring her to the appropriate people for
inspection and advice. The driven end on the loco is damaged and the motor
is out. The gearing on the driven end is also in need of repair. Paintwork
can only be described as average though I imagine these locos were simply
matt black all over anyway. Came with instructions.

It is a: DJH South African GCA Garratt. 1/87 scale and I believe part
number: E134. I can take and supply pics to folks interested.

Thanks

Steve

You should be able to get any parts needed from DJH.  They are very good at
supplying replacements if you make a mess of something.  If you have also
been given the instruction sheet for the kit you will be able to identify
the parts you need.  Again DJH will probably send you a set of instructions
if you ask them nicely.
