Is it actually possible to stop a Nexus from wobbling?

Answer: NO

Well it is in my case anyway :-(. Had mine for a while, learnt to hover
with it but it has always had a bit of a wobble. Go through all the
usual things balancing, still wobbled. Then I found some slight play in
the top bearing, cousin says "get the Zeal pitch rod guide it's not
that expensive, c. £12 and it will sort that" so I did. Finished
rebuilding it today, new starter shaft, clutch and main shaft as
well(mainly because I had the bits available), it still wobbles :-(.

I know the general opinion here is dump it but I use it as a Sim no PC
available here :-).

Is there anything I can do without spending a fortune(I'd rather put
the money into my Raptor/Eco 8) that may be a quick fix? I have the
build manual but it is really vague especially as a lot of the bits
appear to be pre assembled and I may not be putting them back together
right as there are no good guides in there!!!

Phil, my Nexus wobbles too.  When I started flying it at  my field an old
hand came for a look and stated " ah, the nexus wobble".  They all have it.
I just lived with it.  Well, unitl today anyway...

The most certainly do NOT "all have it". If it's wobbling, it's usually a
builders problem, not a kit problem too.

You gave up on it and binned it?

Beav., no, didn't bin it!  Managed to stuff it in!  My previous post, "Oh
dear. Why do these things" refers.

I caught that one later. Some posts seem to leap onto my server while others
take hours. Shame it's dead though, coz I've taught a lot of people to fly
using their Nexii and they fly very well as a rule. Not the most wear
resistant machines out there, but when kits were on offer in my neck of the
woods for 60 quid, a few found there way to where I fly accompanied by
newbies and they lasted well enough to get the owners flying in a
respectable manner.

Beav, I also pai 60 quid!  I got two for £20 actually so it doesnt owe m
much.  It has got me flying but the sound of it straining and grinding away
in aeros puts me off, so I don't do them now.  I shall resume normal
training with the R50...I just ued the Nexus for playing.  Which is why it
crashed.

The good news is that a mate wants to have the nexy to teach him to fly
rotary tool, so the old girl will be rebuilt and flown again.  Alls well
that ends well

Have you tried a higher head speed?  My Rap50 wobbles like a drunken weeble
at anything less than 1500 on the head.

Yes it possible.

Flew mine for three years and had a wobble only when the rotor head speed
was too low. It was used daily for training students at our training center
so accumulated several hundred hours on two machine. No wobble on either
one.
