I´ll second that! I got haggis with minced potatoes once in Scottland and it
tasted great. My friends wouldn´t tell me what it was before I had eaten it
all, maybe a good tactical move...=) Still, I´d have some more any day, IT`S
GOOD folks!

P.S. Ok, so I have some roots in Scottland, maybe that´s why I´m still alive

I'm a Scot and Haggis makes me up-chuck, especially when served with mash
and neeps.  I prefer to eat food.

Neeps (Scottish) = Turnips ( 'Marican)

'Marican (Redneck) = American (Everyone Else)

Lady Login's Receipt, 1856
1 cleaned sheep or lamb's stomach bag
       2 lb. dry oatmeal

Bin the oatmeal. Not at all good for me.

       1 lb chopped mutton suet

Same thing with the suet.

1 lb lamb's or deer's liver, boiled and minced

Much better slow roasted or fast fried in virgin olive oil.

       1 pint (2 cups) stock
the heart and lights of the sheep, boiled and minced

Forget the lights, keep the heart.

       1 large chopped onion

Make it two, I like onions.

1/2 tsp.. each: cayenne pepper, Jamaica pepper, salt and pepperToast
the oatmeal slowly until it is crisp, then mix all the ingredients (except
the stomach bag) together, and add the stock. Fill the bag just over half
full, press out the air and sew up securely. Have ready a large pot of
boiling water, prick the haggis all over with a large needle so it does not

Too little. Needs to serve at least another half dozen.
