I am thinking of getting a JR 531 Servo's for my new 50v2 and a 8700G for
the tail.
Can anyone give me suggestions here ? (is the 8700G an overkill)
I am not on 3D level yet (not with my budget anyway)

I suspect 531s will work fine for learning to fly and progressing into the
beginnings of 3D. The only question you may want to think about is whether
or not you're planning to progress into somewhat aggressive 3D. If so, you
*might* end up wanting to replace the 531s with a faster servo. However, it
could easily be a year of flying before you might start pushing the 531s to
their limits, so it really depends on what you can afford now. JR DS811s
are a little faster than the 531 but are comparable in price if you can find
them on eBay or RunRyder.
I run the 531 on my 50V2 throttle, DS811's elsewhere except Futaba 9253 on
the tail, and have been flying about 8 months (150+ flights, 6 crashes).
Good luck.

531 servo's are ok for your requirements as basic flying and mild
acrobatics, as for the 8700g you may not be using this to the full potential
if using a lower rate gyro. using a top level gyro and servo is best
combination. however JR provide a 810G super servo which is cheeper than the
8700g good performance.
