On the web I saw a US $300 price for a Dragon Helicopter rc model
It included everything to fly and run including 4 chanel - up down
and left and right - posted anywhere in the world
How come it only requires 4 channels -
Is it easier or harder to fly than 9 channel rc heli
Would you recommend it as a newbie starter - or not

In my opinion, I would not recommend anything less than 6 channels. If you
can, go for 9 channels. You will need to run things like heading hold gyros
and governors and 6 BARELY covers that. I strongly discourage the 4 channel
TX.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, you can only use a 4 channel radio on a model
helicopter that doesn't have collective pitch (so you use the throttle/head
speed to control your climb). My Shuttle certainly needs at least 5 channels
to fly, with the sixth channel controlling gyro gain. Without a decent gyro
or collective I think learning would be much more difficult.
My recommendation as a "junior" in this hobby - get the best you can, you'll
be glad you did.
HTH,
Rob.
