Hi,

I did an arsehole thing , and left about a CM of fuel in my tank for about
two weeks, and now its made an ugly water line residue.

Any suggestions on how to clean the tank , without stripping the heli ?

TIA

Clean fuel in a clean tank should NOT leave any 'water line' marks. Methinks
you have a problem somewhere along the line that's going to vest grief upon
you!

I leave varying amount of fuel in my heli tanks, for varying amounts of time
with nair a problem. But then I also have a filter in the exhaust to tank
line and perhaps more importantly, clamp off the exhaust line when the heli
is not in use. This stops the fuel in the tank absorbing any moisture whist
in storage.

If I was you I'd slacken off the frames (I think that's how) to remove the
tank, and give it a good wash out with some fuel or thinners to clean it
out. Then clean out me fuel line filter and lines before flying again. That
or learn to auto PDQ;o)

I do not have an answer to your tide mark but to remove the tank there is no
need to strip the heli.
Take the two screws out of the rear landing gear, you will then see the
plate holding the tank in place. Take those two screws out and the tank will
slip out easily.
