Hi all. I am looking for some advice/feedback on an electric
helicopter purchase. I am new to helicopter flying so I know I will be
buying a fixed pitch heli. I have found quite a few different models
by various manufacturers and would like to know which one would be the
best entry level heli with room for advancement? I am also looking for
a reputable manufacturer that will be able to supply any parts I may
need in the future. Im shopping in the $300 range.
Any advice would be of great help as I would like to start off right.
Thanks
Matt

If you are new to Helicopters or experienced, I'd recommend an electric
helicopter with collective pitch. They are much easier to fly and hover than a
fixed pitch. There will be little more cost, but it is well worth it.

OP,
Is it possible to buy one for 300$.?? you need a more advanced radio, the
heli itself is more excpensive etc ...
i guess you dont make it for 300$.
My recommendations are ikarus picco, hummingbird or gws dragonfly. for
small one.
if you want something bigger take al lookt at the LMH corona. The LMH and
the picco where the two last helis on my wishlist and bougth the picco
2weeks ago. I manage to hoover a bit now and made some hops of +- 15 sec.

I started Helis 12 years ago on a 30 sized nitro heli. Moved up to 60 sized
because they were more stable.
Eventually sold the 60 and purchased a raptor 30 which I still have today.
Recently I purchased a Century hummingbird elite FP.
You can get the RTF hummingbird v3 for 269 ready to go out the box.
The smaller you go the more unstable they are.
Check out the forums like
rotory.com and runryder.com
I don't mean to give you a wake up call but small electrics are not really
good for the beginner.
Oh, and no matter what you do, get the FMA heli simulator. Its free and
online.
purchase a dual analog game pad (like this one):
http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=302914&pfp=srch1
They work great with FMA simulator.
Spend time on the simulator and it will make your time with a heli more
enjoyable as you will learn orientation and control with the simulator and
crash less.
