Some years ago I flew Concepts etc but then gave it a rest for a few years.

Just got back into helis with an ECO 8 electric heli.

I can fly the blades off it now and am starting to consider something wilder
and certainly more powerful.

Am I right in thinking that an X Cell 60 is the BMW?Mercedes of the heli
world??

There a lot more money than say a Raptor 60 but look better quality - I
don't mind spending the money if its worth it.

OR -is there a really good 60 size out there other than those 2 that I
should be considering??

Any help/opinion most welcome.

The Xcell also fly a lot better than the raptor.                         The
Xcell is like a porsche, they are highly refined.

Not sure on the availability in your area but you may want to take a look at
the new Predator from Century.  I have read nothing but positive feedback.
It is being compared to other helis of substantially higher price.  The
purchase price and cost of spares can't be beat apparently.

This hobby is RIFE with comparisons like that, but they generally stop
making them after a while. I know someone who used a Predator for a day or
two, but he's not using it now. I know guys who bought Raptors for the same
reason (as good as an X-cell for half the price). They don't use them now
either. Why?, because quality will out.

Comparing any sub 500quid heli to ANY X-cell is tantamount to admitting
you're brain flew south for the winter. From a pure "get some violent flying
done" point of view, there are VERY few machine that compare to the X-cell.

They're a cheap heli, no doubt, but the'yre not X-cells.

How many Predators or Raptors were used at the 3D Masters? One, two? How
many X-cell Fury's?

I can tell you from personal experience that century helicopters are a pile of
cheap crap. The only good thing i can tell you about them is that a worse case
senario a total crash wont cost more than about $250,the price of a new
kit.................

It may compare to the BMW or Mercedes: it has a large number of parts, it's
expensive to repair, and it always flies beautifully.  I fly two of them and
love them.

All of the 60s are fully capable and each has its foibles.  They are all
expensive, considering engine, muffler, PCM receiver, digital servos, gyro
and matched servo, governor, carbon blades and all those other things that
don't come with the heli kit.

I've seen a lot of people having fun with the Raptor 30 and the new 50.
They fly everything the bigger machines can and they're less expensive to
build and to repair.  If you still want to go all the way, consider the MA
Fury or Fury Expert.

To make a good choice you really need to see an assortment of these machines
in action and talk to the pilots.  The best place is a fun fly or a local
club.

Have fun.
