Hi again all, and thanks for the replies.
I have a few Baron bits kicking around, but not a huge amount.
I still have a few BRAND NEW main gears for the older barons (no bevel gear
on top) which I had made for me. I kept about 10 for myself, although I'm
still flying on the original one which I fitted in 2002. I sold quite a few,
but still have some left. Quality Delrin parts. Some even need the centre
turning out. They're still in gear-cut blank form!
Anyway, I have a few other bits, one-way clutches, linkages, head bits
e.t.c.
Can also make mainshafts at work (and once again, my squirrel is still
running on the first one I had made).
As for filming the heli in flight, I can easily take some short films, but I
have no website to post them on. Well actually, I have some webspace
provided by NTL (my ISP), but I haven't got a clue how to use it. I really
must get it started, as it'd be useful for all my hobbies (helis, ham radio,
photography, electronics, engineering).
Can't be that difficult.
As for pictures, we had quite a wind-up with our local air support unit. I
know a couple of people there, as I visited them before building the model.
I sent them a picture of the model flying low over my dad's farmhouse, and
asked them if they should really fly that close!! They wound up one of their
pilots a treat apparently!!
I still need to add some more windows and other details, but it's so damn
heavy I might leave it alone soon, and just have it as a flying model.
My gazelle project is due to be my real baby. I'm using Vario skyfox
mechanics squeezed into an already quite small Hirobo gazelle fuselage, so
hopefully it won't weigh a ton, and I can add a nice interior.
Paint scheme will be decided after I have got it flying just fine. I won't
even think about detail until then!
Cheers for now, and have fun.
Anyone is welcome to join me to fly at my dad's farm near peterborough. Just
give us a shout. Get's kinda lonely on my own..... I have my dad to help me
for safety reasons, and I'm hoping he'll soon want to have a go with my
Futura. There just aren't that many people flying around here it seems.
Cheers for now.
Joe.
