Beware of Backyardhobbies.com

I ordered some parts from them on 1/29/2005.
I was on vacation at the time; so I entered an unconfirmed address in Paypal
to ship the product to where I was staying.

On Feb 5th; I still hadn't received the parts... so I sent them an email.
No response.

On Feb 8th; I send them another email... this time threating to file a
chargeback claim with Paypal.

Backyardhobbies.com finally responded saying they cancelled my order because
it didn't include a confirmed address.

Don't get me wrong; I don't have an issue with them cancelling my order
because they were afraid of fraud... but I DO have a SERIOUS issue with them
not notifying me withing a reasonable time frame! Also, they "held" my
paypal money for 10 days ... they should have refunded the money as SOON as
they decided they weren't going to ship the materal.

If you must do business with these yahoo's; protect yourself.

You didn't really read did you?

I stated UP FRONT that I didn't have an issue with them not shipping to an
unconfirmed address.

I clearly stated that my issue was with them:
1) NOT notifying me that they were canceling the order. (their order page
says nothing about the confirmed address requirement).
2) the fact that they didn't immediatly "return" my money when they decided
to cancel the order.

The facts are they simply DID NOT do the right thing... they cancelled the
order... kept the money... and didn't notify me that they were doing either.
It took TWO emails to get them to return the money.

As a business owner myself; If I decide to cancel an order... I refund the
money immediately and notify the customer as soon as the refund is complete.

What Backyardhobbies did was irresponsible and piss-poor customer service.
Period.

You guys have the facts... make your own decision.

and they can still mess you about I currently have ongoing dispute I ordered
a Esky Honeybee 2 1800mah Li-Po set up with full training gear and the item
supplied came directly from Hong Kong not Japan despite the fact they say
items are tested three times before shipment and so far I have had the
following issues
1, the TX was in the wrong mode I did ask for the correct one so I had to
swap over the Mode
2, the 3d switch had fallen off of the TX, I had to repair when swapping the
modes
3, 2 servos had to much grease in side slowing them down to a crawl , fix
was to remove the extra grease
4, the Li-Po supplied is a 1100MaH not 1800 Mah as ordered still on
going??(this has been confirmed by the capacity reading from my charger)
4,no Training gear or sim cable now supplied as separate order
I did receive a extra tail motor and servo as compensation
