After my minor mishap (pronounced "impatience) I had to buy a new set of
rotor blades for my venture 50. The new ones were $21 aust and I didnt
really take much notice of them until I went to balance them. They are both
slightly bent (in the same direction) and this makes balancing a bit tricky
but I have managed it.What I am asking is will the fact that they are bent
effect the way my heli will fly (when I learn how to) and if not should I
place the blades so they curve up or down at the ends when on the heli.
thanks

if you mean bent as they have an aerofoil section like a wing with one side
flatter then the other you can only put them on one way as the rounder edge
of the blade faces the direction of rotation and the sharper end faces away
unless you by blades for the opposite rotation

no i mean bent as in along its lenght.I know about aerofoil thingys,my boys
doin a areonutical scholarship. If you turn the blades so the sharp edge is
facing up you can see the bend in the blades going sideways.Looks like they
were maybe stored with something heavy on them forcing a curve.

That is not a bad thing dennis...look at how may full size heli's have droop
along the blade length...that is a normal feature and allows for a degree of
Blade Flapping especially where blade flapping hinges are not built into the
rotor head...this is a vital characteristic of Heli Flight unless you have a
twin contra-rotating machine where such devices are not necessary. If both
your blades are bent to same angle then you can be sure they have been set
up that way for a purpose.
Fit your blades so they curve down when not spinning...they will take up the
flex and bend up when spinning and adjust themselves accordingly in forward
flight.

you can only fit them one way up its impossible to fit them any other way???
try it and you will see, if you do fit them up side down then the trailing
edge will be facing the direction of rotation

Yeah i realised that after I posted, have balanced them and there is a
slight wobble to the heli when the rotors are spinning when just above idle
but after that it stops.Ive only had it to 1/3 throttle though cos to scared
to get it off the ground again until I have had someone with experience
check it all out  (sunday)
