Here's a question I have.
Has anyone ever seen a Automatic Glow Ignitor for a Plane or
Helicopter? I think that it would be nice to have a glow ignitor that
can be turned on via the TX and it would remain on for a set period of
time e.g. 45 seconds or so, then shut itself off. Not a necessary
feature, more bling than anything, but would be very convenient. Just
a thought. I have no real need for one, just curious if it exists. I
have googled it with little to no results.

That's way to easy to do yourself, but if you must spend the money on
ready made system, try this:

Thanks for the link.
Have you ever tried one of these?

I used a C-tronics Flight Glow in a large airplane. Came on at 1/4 throttle
or less, off above that. Worked well, but as delivered not really suited
for helicopters as the power for the glow igniter was a C-cell sized 1700maH
Nicd battery. Not much spare room on a helicopter for something that size,
although a smaller cell could probably be used.
But given how heli pilots set up throttle curves where what's "throttle
idle" to an airplane driver is "full throttle max negative pitch" (in
idle-up 2) to a helicopter, that simple design is probably inappropriate.
Here's the link to their site.

There are many to choose from -- pick up a copy of RC Modeler magazine and
flip through it. Lots of ads for them, but you have to look at the smaller
ads as that's where I tend to see them most often.
