need some help please

have a raptor 30 v2 with a tt39 engine

i put my rappi into the field the otherday with training gear on so limited
the amount of damage but had to get 2 new blades, thank god for wood, a new
spindle and i also upgraded my main shaft to a solid quick uk one.

the problem i have now is when i throtle up to go light on the skids, the
engine cuts out

i get the head speed up and the tail starts o move with the gyro then it
cuts just before take off,

any ideas are welcome. i have changed the glow plug that did nothing, now
stuck

cheers in advance

Your engine quits right about the time you go light on the skid?  Does it
quit abruptly or does it start to gurgle and sag before it stops?  Is there
any smoke at all from the engine before this happens?

Sounds like you're running too lean on the main mixture needle.  Turn the
needle all the way in (clockwise) until it bottoms out.  Don't tighten it!
Then back it out (counterclockwise) to 1.5 turns.  This should be a good
starting point and will, in most cases, leave you a little too rich on the
fuel mixture.  You can then lean it back out a couple of clicks of the
needle at a time until the engine is happy.

One other thing that comes to mind.  Was the engine running Ok before and
this just started happening?  If so, take a look at your glo plug, assuming
you haven't already.  Even if you think it "looks" Ok, go ahead and change
it anyway before doing any major adjusting on the fuel mixture.

Good luck,
Steve R.
