I received messages from people here telling me to apply the CSM patch for
XP (http://www.rcmodels.org/csm/v10.htm) which I did.
it solved the Parallel port issue and thank you !
however I just pass an obstacle, another just came after : the video is not
displayed : I can see no graphics when I start the simulation. I believe CSM
uses the old BGI drivers that use a VESA compliant card. It was from the
good old days where DOS games were kings but now under windows and Geforce
boards the vesa stuff is completely something of the past!
So is there a way to see the simulation under XP and a Geforce board please
?
I know one possible solution is called REFLEX but for the time being I whish
I just could make my old CSM work :)
thanks

Hi Cyril,
I'm in the same boat as you......I'm running a Ti4200 Geforce
card with XP Pro and, even though I can get the port to be recognised, the
video just doesn't work. I gave up in the end, made myself a DOS boot disk
and ran the sim from that. Be warned though....without the Vesa drivers for
the card, the video performance is crap. So much so that when I fly close
to myself, it slows down *considerably*.....makes it look like I'm using a
shitty old Trident2D card (this is on a 2.53Ghz P4 too) :-( I'm almost at
the point now where I'm going to buy RealFlight G2 and sell CSM on ebay.
Expensive way to get a sim that works, considering what I paid for CSM when
I got it :-(
