Is it normal for a Futaba S9254 to make a buzzing noise all the time, it
does work fine and sometimes I can flick the stick left and right as its the
rudder servo and it will go quite but as soon as any input is used its
starts buzzing again I have tried it in my hand not connected to the heli
and it still does the same.

I'm relatively new to digitals, I just build a Freya X-Spec the digital
servos all the way around except throttle.  They buzz like all get out but
seem to be working just fine otherwise.  I did find some drag in the
collective due to some over tight ball links and got them loosened up quite
a bit and that helped a lot.

Overall, I think that digital servos will buzz more than analogs because
they work so hard to hold center.  If I'm off on that opinion, I'm sure
someone will correct me!  ;-)

Check your tail rotor control systems, the control rod, pitch slider, and
even the blade grips themselves.  Disconnect the ball links and try to move
each component independant of the other parts to see if you can isolate a
problem.  Any unusual drag in any of these pieces will help cause what
you're hearing and a "little" drag in each of them can add up to a LOT of
drag for the servo to overcome.

Good luck,
Steve R.

I find most digitals won't buzz if you have everything free as possible
so the servos can centre properly. However the most recent 9254s can
still buz a bit even with nothing connected.

I noticed a lot of buzzing with my "new" Rappy 50 and thought there
was some binding somewhere in the linkages.  Pulling the controls arms
off the servos and powering them up, the buzzing remains..  I can only
assume that since all of 'em buzz, it's normal.

I guess I could try a new receiver to be sure....
