Hi Guys

I have quite a lot of cool power (well 15 gallons anyway) that is about
three years old.

Will the synthetic oils have started to break down. It seems a waste to
chuck the fuel away but then again if its going to damage my motors........

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure you're going to get a lot of opinions on this but
I'm just going to relate something that happened to me.  I
too had some fuel stored for a while, but a bit longer than
you... mine was sealed up in the original plastic containers
and stored in an unheated barn the entire time.

I tested a couple engines a while back, as I'm (slowly)
getting back into R/C.  The fuel worked fine.  I suspect
that as long as it's been inside and in an airtight
container, you're going to have no problems at all with fuel
that's "only" 3 years old.
Cheers,
jc

Similar circumstances here.  I found a case (4 gals) of Cool Power in
my garage that was shipped to me back in 1993..  All of it was
unopened and still sealed in the original bottles.  For giggles, I
broke out an old airplane and filled the tank with this old stuff.
Took some fiddling to get the thing to start, but once it was running
and tuned, it ran great.  So great that I charged up the batteries,
bolted on the wing and terrorized the local school yard for an hour..

Thanks for the replies. I found the below on the Morgan site re- Cool
Power:-
-----
Unopened and stored in ideal conditions (between 60-80 degrees) it will
remain usable for several (5-7) years. As the fuel begins to degrade it will
increasingly lack the punch of new fuel. Really the only way to tell if the
fuel is good is to run it. If it idles well and the transition is good on
the ground, use it. You might notice a little less "bark" in a fuel that has
been stored for several years but it won't hurt the engine.
-----
Soooo I guess I'll be using that 'old' Cool Power.

Thanks
