Could someone please tell me if I had two sets of crystals on say channel
66, would the one transmitter crystal work on two models without problem.
i.e. the crystal sets aren't marched any other way. Just to save swapping
crystals all the time.

I'm trying to run my cp pro with a Jr 8103. I replaced the e-flit
reciever with a pos shift jr 610. I have my e-flite 72 Mhz crystal
installed in it, but the heli doesn't respond at all. I was told i
might be the crystals. Does anyone know the reason these crystals won
work, and which ones I need

And your imagination would prove to be 100% spot on too.

Because they're different.

I'm going to let you try to work that one out for yourself.

Probably because most JR RXs are single conversion, and most E-Flight
RXs are dual conversion.  The crystals for the two have very different
values even for the same channel.

E-Flite Rx on my CP's 4-in-1 is definitely single conversion.  I
stuffed in a Futaba single conversion crystal and got it talking to my
9C a long time ago.

Yes, the transmitter should work with any receiver that has a crystal on the
same channel. Transmitter and receiver crystals are identified to work on a
specific channel but are not matched as such. I use one transmitter for 10
or more different models each with their own receiver and crystal.

Regards Peter

I'm thinking of buying 2 new receivers. they are dual conversion. they will
be in 2 different planes. so I know they have to be on different channels if
they are on the field together. my problem is I see dual conversion RX
crystals for sale but I only see single conversion TX crystals. does this
mean all TX are single and will work with duel conversion RX crystals.

transmitters are fm futaba conquest fp-t4nbf.
thanks for the help in advance. you looked like you knew what you were
talking about.

Except that Channel 66 (in the USA) is a surface frequency at 75.51Mhz - not
aircraft!

So it's lucky he's not in the USA!

In the UK channel 66 is an aircraft frequency,  35.060Mhz

Hey RA,

Funny thing happened to me Sunday at the flying field. I have my Futab
set up as my heli radio on US channel 21, and a JR set up as my fixe
wing radio US channel 21. I figure I'll never fly a heli and a
airplane at the same time right? So Isaac gets to the field and I le
him fly my heli (E-Flite Blade). I watch a little while, then start t
prep my trainer...yep! turned on my JR and promptly shot down my ow
heli!!!

No damage except to my ego!
