Hi all, out at the field today with a fellow heli hopper,he's got a nice
bright shiny Calibre 30.He mentioned that one of the rods, connecting the
pitch servo to the swashplate , had got bent and he didn't know how.He put
it down to having knocked it or something.Anyway, he took it up for a few
minutes today and low and behold, after he landed it, the same rod had bent
again.Anybody else had this problem, or can anybody offer any reason for it?
Its set up using a FF9 with ECCPM on a 120degree swashplate setting. We done
some stick twiddling on the ground, but couldn't find a reason for it to go
out of shape. So is totally mystified at present.
TIA

You did "some" stick twiddling, but did you do full collective AND some
(lots of) cyclic stick twiddling? Sounds to me like something is trying to
push the links beyoned their mechanical limits.

Cheers Beav, I thought along the same lines, but couldn't see anything
suspect, will suggest he trys again and twiddles a whole lot more

A PISS easy way to make sure nothing's getting pushed is to simply watch the
head as you go to full collective and move the cyclic stick in a circle. If
there's ANY movement being overdriven, the head will turn when the cyclic
stick reaches the "corners" of it's movement.
