I think I already know what the pliers look like and also what a ball link
is (picture below) but I still don't know what do do with the plier on the
ball link.....

Seriously,

Ball link pliers are a special type of pliers that have a "U" shape
grove cut into one of the jaws.  They are used to snap on and off th
ball joint linkages that are typically used in the collective an
cyclic control rods in model helicopters.

That does make sense as I saw a photo someone using this plier near the
swashplate. These are differnet from the ball linkges in the photo in a
previous message ? Yes, I should just get a heli and f*cking look at it, I
know.

You have obviously never tried to get ball links on & off, with your
fingers.  ! ! ! Unless you have very strong & tough fingers.

You must have soft fingeres. Using fingers was the way it HAD to be done in
medieval times before the ball link lifters were invented.

Be f.cking careful you. You may THIK youo're safe with that farty little
piece of water between us, but I'm a SAILOR!!!.

As for ball link pliers, they're nothing more than a normal pair of (small)
flat nosed pliers with a semi-circle of material removed from the tip of one
of the jaws and a "pimple" welded/incorporated on the other jaw so that the
"pimple" sits inside the hole where the material was removed.

This allows the pliers to be fitted UNDER the ball link and the pimple sits
on top of the ball. Squeeze the pliers and the link is lifted off the ball.
