I think its still a bit expensive to be honest.  I always use the rule of
thumb that second hand gear is worth 50% of new retail.  I may be wrong, but
that's about as much as I always seem to get when I sell second hand stuff -
especially on ebay.

A mate is after a GV-1. Do you still have it?

oops. I lost this thread. I keep booting into different O/S and I loose
track of the newsgroups. I should really make my mind up about what to use.

Anyway the JR X-378 is on eBay along with the receiver, starting at £150..
So thats basically the offer above with a £75 saving on the RX.

The CSM 540 has gone, the GV-1 is still here and so is the CSM 360.

I've gotta buy a Supra by some time in January so if anybody wants to
Sponsor me, let me know. I'm considering setting up a charity site called

What the piggin' hell d'you want a f.cking SUPRA for? I presume it's the
twin turbo you're looking at, and if so, I'll make you a little bet. I bet
you slip it out on a corner and bury the back end into a lampost or similar.
To keep the back end in line you need VERY good tyres to keep 400+ bhp in
line and they're usually very expensive too.

Come on down Carl (to earth:-)

I'm a supra fanatic. I always have been but I thought by the time I was able
to get insurance for one, I'd be 30 and they'd be sooo dated, but I got a
reasonable insurance quote, limited mileage S.D use etc. so now I want one.

I would actually take a normally aspirated one since the looks do it for me
(without the rear wing) but I'm fairly sure that after not very long I'd be
wishing I'd bought the TT, so yeah.. twin turbo.

It's actually only 326bhp + traction control on a genuine UK model, or
slightly less on a jap import (which most of them are now). I do have pretty
specific requirements though which might make it hard to get the right
motor. It's gotta be the right colour, preferably without rear wing,
unmodified, 6-spd manual (the Getrag box!) original-UK model (bigger brakes
and more..) and I want the later 3-spoke steering wheel since the original
steering wheel w/airbag is f.cking humongous.

Hey if I can throw £850 p/month away at paying my debts to the IR & VAT
(which I am successfully managing to do) then once they're paid (very soon)
I can start giving that money to my nan to safekeep until I've got enough
for the motor ;-) Time is running out though 'cause the lease is up on my
Alfa in Jan and this client of mine probably won't be renewing our
payment-in-kind deal 'cause he has a fulltime webmaster now (thank f.ck).

Frankly my dear, I don't see THAT happening. Get a bike and have done :-)

And when he sees the state of that thing you're driving around in, he'll
send YOU a bill for the cleanup :-)

Why not look around for a Lexus Aristo? Same TT motor as the Supra, but it's
a tad more "Gangsta" (when I say "tad", I actually mean a shitload:-)

OI! Don't be saying that! You haven't seen the huge fuckoff dent inthe
passenger side yet! I tried to turn round a wall.. without actually coming
past the corner of the wall - the wall and I became one ;-)

I'll have it all sorted and polished up about 3 weeks before it goes back!

Would that be the Japanese equivalent of the GS300 but with the 2jzgte
motor? I've heard something about them.. or I might've heard about a yank
dropping the supra motor into a n/a one, can't remember.

I don't wanna be Gansta ;-) I'm heavily tempted to go for another GTV, I
like italian cars, but also I'd like a nice mature MB CLK Cabriolet - silver
w/black hood.. might help me feel more business-serious :-) but they're far
too pricey used.

uh.. f.cking money. I need to get my credit file sorted out like now..

2JZG(T)E .. it's Toyotas in-line 6 cylinder engine, the GTE being the twin
turbo version, and the GE being normally aspirated. They use it in the Supra
MK-IV and I think 1 or 2 of the Lexus's

Oh.  They didn't go far out of their way thinking of a snappy name for
it then :-)   Like,  say "Throbsome super-vroom sixpot" or something ?

I can imagine. Remember, I HAVE been in your passenger seat (once:-)

I saw that coming last year:-)

You'd better, or the leasing company will do it and send you t' bill.

It's the 3 litre straight 6 twin turbo motor if that's what yer mean.

Maybe a yank did, but the Jap guys do it at the factory.

The Aristo is a great business car too. It doesn't LOOK too "off", but it's
got a certain "one-offness" to it.

> uh.. f.cking money. I need to get my credit file sorted out like now..

Cars like that don't do too well with someone with credit grief. They need
lots of spare cash just to keep the tank filled. Around 60 quid a week for
"average" driving. (That's close to 100 dollars for you Ami's) Then there's
the insurance (minimum group 19).

Can't you drive around in your Ibinez? :-))
