BladeCX "orbiting" problem?

Have a Blade CX that, once it is in the air, seems to "orbit" a
centerpoint. That is, after liftoff it circles an imaginary line
radiating straight up from the launch point in a circle about 3-5 feet
in diameter. Flybar, blades and axles all seem straight with no
vibration. Restarting the 4-in-1 doesn't seem to have any effect.

Any suggestions?

Something in there is bent or out of alignment. No way of telling except
pulling it apart and checking all the components. Check your shafts by
rolling them on glass or using a straight edge. What looks straight not
always is.

Have you tried adjusting (by lengthening or shortening) the connector from
the flybar and the upper rotor.  I found that adjusting that diminished it
quite a bit for me.  If you read the manual, it'll tell you that you want
the tips of the blade to be in the same plane with each other or as close
as you can get them. This can be easily seen by have a light back ground
and watching the tips as it is flying.

Yes, although that had no obvious affect on the orbiting issue.

Both pairs appear to be in the same plane while spinning. My next
attempt to fix this is to disassemble/reassemble the entire thing. Might
get lucky!

Try changing the mount on the flybar to the other blade

This happened to me after I installed a new center shaft.  I had
broken the tip of mine and replaced it with a new one with a (blue)
metal tip.  The weighted flybar had a little bit of drag (a tiny little
bit) when it rocked back and forth in the metal tip.  I didn't think it
was a big deal but then I developed the same problem you have.  It
drove me crazy checking for bent pieces.  I replaced the shaft with
another one with the original plastic top and it moves smoothly again
and I'm back to hovering properly.
