Whilst researching a possible replacement for the walkera I happened across
the venom air corps 3d.  I was also looking for something similar enough to
perhaps to convert to a better designed head.  The walkera has a few z bends
which, according to my latest reading, is a bad thing.  You really need a
straight a route as possible between your servo and the armature you are
trying to effect.

Anyway, the venom machine is an exact replica.  However venom have a
reputation for really putting effort into setting up the copter and not
merely assembling it.  I downloaded the manual and it is far more thorough
than the walkera.  proper explanations of setting up and a full exploded
diagram.  I am now attempting to reassemble my machine, ulp!

I think they are the same helicopter:

be able to use the parts.

yes i said in my 2nd paragraph they are identical.  As to the link i need
realplayer and i will never install that piece of rubbish on my system.  It
gets tangled up everywhere.

one of the model shops i went to sold sabres and a venom equivalent.  they
preferred to sell the venoms cos they were better set up.  the venom parts
were interchangeable and cheaper so the only stocked those.

Another company that set up well are jperkins.  I haven't tried myself but i
have had varying opinions of the esky brand.  The parts seem almost
interchangeable with the perkins except that complete esky machines are
cheaper to buy but the parts are dearer.  The reverse is true of the
jperkins.

I will happily buy walkera mechanical parts but not their fully assembled
craft or their electronics.
