Hi,

I am looking to purchase a Radio/receiver with servos for a new T-Rex.
I am new to this and would like some advise. I see kits from JR like
this one: 6102FM, R610UL & 4-S241

seen here
http://www.jrradios.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRP6654**

Any idea? I am open to suggestions.

Hi,

Im using a Futaba 7CAP with Futaba 7ch PCM RX. The servo's are
Hitec HS81 for tail and Hitec HS56 for collective.

You can spend alot more on the servo's if you wish but this is the cheap
option that will definitely do the job. Check out the T-Rex forum on
RcUniverse,
Runryder or Helifreak to decide for yourself.

Steer clear of the R610 RX from JR. Had nothing but trouble with them
in electric choppers and planes. They work well in Methanol Planes.

Infact, I would steer well clear of anything from JR! All of their
transmitters
are of very poor build quality. I have had two of them disintegrate after
only
1yr. The Futaba I have now is built like a brick shithouse and since going
the
Futaba route, I would never go back. Much better quality.

You will get others telling you Im wrong, but, hey, I was a huge fan of JR
until
the TX's fell apart.

Regards,

Troy.

I'm a Futaba guy and use a 9CHP for all my models.  You can buy a Tx
only on Ebay for about $225 if you look around.

In my Trex, I have a Futaba 146ip Rx, Futaba 9250 high speed digital
servo for the tail (GY401 gyro) and Hitec HS65s for the cyclic servos.
This servo/gyro/servo package has sort of become the de-facto
"standard" for the Trex helis.  Everyone I know that has one has this
setup.

Well, I don't know you so..  hehehe

Just got all the electronic bits installed on my Trex 600 today..
Hitec 6975s on the swash, GY611 Gyro/Futaba 9256 on the tail, 149DP Rx
and the stock Align 75a ESC and BEC.  Just gotta dress up the wires
and she should be ready to go late tomorrow afternoon..
