Hi all,

I am looking for a helicopter with the following:

1 - live wireless camera
2 - payload capacity of 2 pounds or more
3 - range/altitude of at least 400 feet
4 - some sort of grappling hook / magnet that would be used to pick up
/ drop off small items (around 2 pounds). The hook or magnet would
have to be able to be controlled via one of the available channels.

Any sugesstions?

Thanks so much!

Mary

Any "50" sized bird would be able to be outfitted as you specify..
You want electric or nitro/gas/turbine power?

Not sure if anyone offers anything turn key, but I"m sure I could
build something up.  How much you willing to spend??  :)

you could build it but could they fly it? it sounds like the OP is going
to need a pilot as well

Actually, they're www.bergen-rc.com and they're out of Cassopolis, MI.  It's
a little place in the southwest corner of Michigan, about 20 to 30 miles
northeast of South Bend, In.  Look South Bend up on www.mapquest.com and
you'll find Cassopolis off of Hwy 60 in the direction I just indicated.

They're the only company I know of that offers RC helicopters that are
designed around mounting a camera and doing aerial photography.  They use
gas engine (Zenoah's) and are very strong and reliable.  They've got several
different versions.  Check the web site to take a look and give them a call
if you've got questions.  I've found them to be very willing to help if they
can.

As for the grappling hook, that's something you'll have to figure out on
your own.  Bergen might be able to offer some suggestions along that line
but I won't say that as an absolute.  Best thing you can do is ask them!

Good luck,
Steve R.

That's not my concern, but I could offer my services as pilot as well.
