Guys,
I havent messed with sims for yonks and just wonder w3hat's considered
good now?  I want a sim for teaching my younger children fixed wing and
my eldest, who can fly FW, to fly heliss. Also for improving my own
rotary skills no doubt.

Is it still Realflight??

No not really. Real Flight is OK, but Reflex is the best by a long way in mu
view.

It used to be, no question.  Now, Real Flight has competition.

Now you've got several high end simulators with somewhat similar
graphics, features and system requirements to choose from --

  Real Flight G3 (.5)
  Aerofly Pro
  Reflex XTR
  FS One
  { and I've probably forgotten a few }

All should work well for what you need.  As for which is best, asking
four people will probably get you four different answers.

Can you recommend one for E-Flite Blade CP Pro heli that allows the
transmitter to be connected to the simulator?

Thanx

Any of these should do it, but you'll probably have to make or buy a
custom cable to connect your E-Flite TX to the simulator TX, since the
plug on the E-Flite TXs is different than everybody else's.  (I'll bet
the signal is the same, however.)

But there's nothing special about your TX -- any TX should work just
as well, including the ones thta comes with the simulators.

Note that `FS One' I do believe comes with a Blade CP model out of the
box (since it's by the same `group of vendors' as the Blade models) so
if you're really wanting to practice your Blade CP, that might be the
most similar.  (I've never tried it myself.)

RealFlight, Aerofly Deluxe, Reflex, FS One..  Lots of 'em out there.
I like RealFlight 'cuz it comes with a "transmitter" to use instead of
your actual Tx..  No sense wearing out the pots on our Tx while you
work on the sim.

On the other hand, using your own Tx gives you the same "feel" you'll
get when you're actually at the field.

Reflex seems to have one of the best simulators for helis (which are
more critical than fixed wing). My son (11) loves it, and it is very
useful to learn.
