Hi,

Does anyone on this newsgroup use the JR XP662 radio? If so (or if you know
the answers anyway), please can you help me?

Q1. I have set the system up so that the flight mode switch switches the
gyro (CSM 400) between normal and heading hold on my model, but there seems
to be a problem, in that when I change flight mode, my trims change too.
This could clearly have disastrous consequences... Is there any way around
this, short of trimming out in both modes, or will I just have to use a
different switch to operate the gyro? i.e., is there anyway of disabling the
trim changing aspect of the flight mode switch? The flight mode switch is in
the most convenient place, but if I can't get around the problem, I'll just
have to use one of the dual rate switches

Q2. The second question relates to using this radio with Real Flight G2. I
have posted a message on the technical forum on their web page, but no joy
so far. Basically, I want to use the above radio to control a helicopter
model on the sim, set up as "My Radio". In other words, making set up
changes to the radio, rather than the computer program. Problem is that I
can't seem to get either the gyro mode switch or throttle hold switches to
be recognised and operate properly. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tim

No you need to transpose the same settings to the other mode to keep
the same flight trim on each mode.
There is only three to set.

Dont use G2 myself so cant help there.
My Sim doesnt pick up those either.

By following the manufaturers instructions. Fly the heli in RATE mode with
ALL trims. mixers etc set to ZERO. Now all you've got to do is trim the
model by adjusting the pushrod length. That's it, job done.

If you subsequently get a change in "trim" when you switch to heading hold,
you've either got a mix enabled in your new mode, or you didn't inhibit all
the mixes in the rate mode (idle up presumably) or the gyro is faulty
(unlikely, but possible).

The flight mode switch is in

You should be able to use the idle up (flight mode) switch without resorting
to any other. My personal preference is to have the "Rate/HH" switch on the
GEAR channel though, so I can select HH or rate in ANY flght mode.

It's a bitch that one... I don't know why, but I'm having the same problem
with  friends JR radio and his G2. I have to switch both the flight mode
switch AND the "dual rate" switch for channel 4 (rudder). THEN it works, but
I've not had the time or patience to discover a workaround yet.
