Best flight simulator for newbie to RC helicopters?  Have been flying RC
fixed wing for years but have at last want to got to the helis.  Want to be
able to connect to my own Tx (8UAPS) or similar to the Great Planes flight
sim which comes with the Futaba box.

Cliff,

I have run them all being a heli guy myself. Here's my experience with them.

I have firm opinions on this order after spending much time with them.

1. Phoenix-Sim
2. Reflex XTR
3. Realflight G3.5
4. Aerofly Professional Deluxe
5. ClearViewRC ($30!)
6. The free ones...

All of them are good, a few of them are GREAT!

Enjoy and put some good sim time in, you won't regret it.

I would modify that list to put Reflex XTR at the top (Phoenix 3rd) - for
Heliccopters at least.
But that's just my opinion!

Hi,

I´d rather put my Reflex XTR on 1st. 2nd goes to Aerofly Professional.
At least if helis are concerned. After buying the reflex I never tried
any of the others.

I still believe Phoenix-Sim beats Reflex XTR. XTR WAS the best but now
Phoenix-Sim is a no brainer. And, there is no red "no-fly" zone. Sweet!

Just do a little research and you will find many of the same opinions.

There are many Reflexers out there, I used to be one of them.... Nuff said.

But the physics in Phoenix is not NEARLY as real for helis - especially for
autos, which seem impossible - in my experience.

In Phoenix? Not a bit of it. Auto's are superb and if you can auto in
Phoenix, you WILL be able to auto in the real world.

As a Reflex user for some time, I've just ordered Phoenix after borrowing
one for a month or so.

My Reflex has already been sold.
