I'm looking to purchase a cnc router with a cutting area of about
1000mmx1000mm.

Anyone reccomend a good model, make, website.

Very interesting. Thanks for the link.

I've now decided to make my own CNC flatbed router. 3 Axis to start with,
maybe add a 4th afterwards.

Has anyone else done this and be willing to offer some tips?

For a flat bed router one would typically have three axis. X, Y, Z

The forth axis is a rotation around either the x or y axis. This allows the
work piece to be flipped or worked on as if its in a lathe.

So I guess if you include time that would be 5 axis:-)
