I haven't been able to find much info on the Phoenix Sim transmitter
interface.  I'm wondering if it's compatible with my JR transmitter (older
8103, pre digital-trim) that uses a plug that looks like an 1/8" headphone
plug.  I haven't kept up with the latest and am not sure if current JR
transmitters have the same connection as they used to.

Thanks!

The Phoenix Sim comes with an interface which has a USB at one end and a
stereo 3.5mm jack plug at the other.

The 3.5mm jack plug directly fits JR and SPektrum radios.  If you have a
different sort (e.g. Futaba) then you need to buy an extra adapter which has
a 3.5mm jack socket at one end and the radio socket on the other.

In your case the Phoenix interface should work without the need to purchase
additional adapters.

Cheers,

Nigel

When I bought mine, they had an option of substituting whatever adaptor you
needed instead of the JR adaptor so there was no need to spend the extra
money.

Really - don't you mean in addition to the JR connector, since the JR
connector is part of the interface (i.e. soldered to it).

I know that the US versions ship with a square type futaba adapter by
default (thereby covering the vast percentage of modern radio ownership).

But to the best of my knowledge the UK ones just ship with the interface
(and its inherent JR connector).  If you want anything else then it is an
extra cost.

Cheers,

Nigel

When I bought mine, I ordered it through what I thought was a UK web site.
They listed the price in British currency, or maybe it was Euros, and then
listed in parenthesis what the cost was in US dollars.  They had a pull down
box where you could specify which adaptor you wanted to come with the sim.
All that came in the box was the installation CD and one (1) adaptor plug to
go from the back of my Futaba radio to a USB port on the computer.  The
programming loaded easily and worked perfectly the first time around.
That's not always been my experience with model simulators.

Obviously, I can't comment on how the program is shipped in the UK.  All I
know is I got the adaptor I specifically ordered.

FWIW!

What, like this one

DUCT&productid=1

If you look at the adapter drop down, the Standard JR MX\MC has no cost
because it is part of the interface and all the others are optional and have
an additional cost depending on which one you select.

Cheers,

Nigel
