Hello !

I am wondering if it is possible to use my new futabaradio (
http://www.futabarc.com/discontinued/futj80.html )
along with my Walkera #36 electro helicopter.
The heli has this stock reciever.

walkera support does however tell me to use a 6 channel futabaradio,
but my radio should work just fine(?).
My radio has eight channels, but are fully programable.

-Can I use my radio?
- What kind of chrystal do I need single or dual?

OK,
I gather the wakera has its own receiver/speed control all-in-1
module?

If so, you will have to change that for a normal receiver (get a small
one) and a speed controller.

If the Wakera is a brushed motor, then might as well upgrade to a
brushless motor too, as more power, and usually the speedies are
cheaper and easier to find for brushless.

Now, may seem daunting at first, but worth it in the long run.

I found a motor/esc on eBay specially for my #35 (Walkera product) and
made a world of diff to the chopper. Also, went with a LiPo battery...

Moby

I do have LiPo battery, ESC and brushless motor.....

But do you mean that I cannot use my radio even on Esky Honeybee Cp2
(4-in-1 reciever)

Yes,
My understanding is the 4-in-1, and similiar multi units, are not
compatable with normal transmitters.

You ESC you have, is that a separate unit that plugs into the
'receiver' combo??

Yes that is a standard ESC thingie that is connected to the reciever.
I believe it is a original walkera ESC connected to the reciever
trough a channel.
I have seen that ehirobo.com sell Futabaradio as an compatible option
for Walkera...

Lokks like this one:

Excuse my bad english and novice'ness :-)

Ok, I think I'we got the picture right now.....
I'we searched trough the walkera forum for an answer.
Everyone tells me to change the reciever to a futaba reciever
and connect evertyhing just like the Walkera reciever.....
Hope that I don't blow the reciever away with the LiPo settings I
have.
But it gets the power trough channel 3(?) from the ESC then?

Yep, that will all work.

And yes, IF the ESC has a BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit) (as most
do), it will suppy the right power to the receiver.

Just as an update to my thing here...

The E-sky honeybee CP2 is working perfectly with my futaba radio.
I use a futaba cystall single convertion in the 4-in-one reciever and
everything seems to be ok.

About the Walkera #36:
I did replace the original reciever with my futaba PCM1024 and use
futaba single convertion crystall, and also that chopper flies well
now.

Conclution:
the HE-Sky honeybee CP2 work with no modification except for the
crystall.
The walkera #36 does not work with futaba crystall, just in case
someone would like to give it a try.
