Just got myself one of these but I'm still a relative newbie and before I
dare use it I need to get something straight in my head.
I understand that each model has a receiver which is bound to a particular
model memory in the TX and if I have the TX set to model 1 but I turn on
model 2, the TX will not connect to the receiver and flight will not be
possible.
My model 1 is a T-rex 450SE and my model 2 is a Raptor 30. What if I have
the TX inadvertantly set to model 2 (Raptor) and I want to fly model 1
(T-rex)
I turn on the TX and switch on throttle hold. I then connect the model
batteries and wait for the giro to initialise but because I have the wrong
model number on the TX, the receiver will not connect. Do I now have a
"live" model with no connection to the TX or is there some sort of safety
which will not allow the throttle to open without a TX connection?

When you bind the RX to the TX each channel of the RX will be programmed to
have failsafe values equal to the values beeing commanded by the TX at the
time of binding.
Later if the model and RX is powered on without a TX or with the wrong model
on the TX, the RX will set all outputs to the failsafe values.
So make sure that the commanded throttle is at zero when binding by turning
throttle hold on before binding or by being in normal mode and having the
throttle stick all the way down.
