I'm interested in a mid sized electric in the $500-$600 range. The T-Rex
seems like more heli for the money (at least size wise), but the Lepton
looks like a more quality piece.
Comments or experiences anyone??
Thanks,
Jack

I don't own a Lepton, but I know a couple guys who do. I do own a
Trex 600 and most of the guys I fly with own 'em as well.
The Lepton is a nice bit of kit, but both these guys complain about
the price of parts. (and sometimes availability)
The 600 is also a nice rig. I have had zero quality issues with mine
and the guys I fly with have very few issues with the heli either -
most issues have to do with the helical gears and the monster Neu
motors they're running.
The 600 flies VERY nicely and parts are very reasonably priced and
available at most shops/online stores. I have all the metal upgrade
parts for mine, but have had no need to install 'em 'cuz the stock
parts work just fine. The only thing I changed was the tail rotor
drive pulleys to get the metal units installed because of a few
failures of the plastic units in early kits (mine was one of the 1st
200 in the US) but other than that, it's bone stock.
I don't think you'll go wrong with either, but around here, the 600 is
way more popular and parts are always in stock at the local shop.

Kevin,
Thanks for your timely and informative response. Makes me definitely lean
towards the 600, for a number of reasons.
Best,
Jack

Like I said, I love mine. It's by far the favorite of my fleet.. I'm
starting to really eyeball the Mikado Logo 6003D right now. The
videos I've seen from IRCHA 2007 made me go "WOW" and the stuff I've
read about it on various forums make me VERY interested in laying my
paws on one.
