Hi All,
I got a 2CH Dragonfly at Christmas, and after a full charge it won't
take off? You push the left lever (up / down) up full and the rotor
blades just spin without lifting off?
Anyone got an idea to why it won't take off?
First couple of times tried it, I managed to at least lift it a few feet
off the ground.

to be honest that's about right its a piece of junk, from the ones I
have seen up close and personal they are only fit for the bin

A question and a suggestion.
Does the copter itself spin while you are trying to get it to take
off? ON many of the small copters, there isn't enough tail rotor
effect to counteract that spin until it is off the floor. Try hand
launching it instead of taking off from the floor. You don't need to
throw it or anything, just hold it in your hand until the rotor spins
up and then let it go.
Try holding the ends of the rotor blades and twisting them in the
direction they are already curved. Hold them for 30 seconds or so.
Try flying again; this may give you more lift.

Just a thought - Is there an antenna, if so is it fully unwound? I bought a
EasyCopter last November and because I didn't read the manual, I found that
the antenna was packed tightly in the cockpit. Once I unwound it everything
was fine.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments.
I agree that this helicopter is toy in comparison to some other 4ch &
6ch variations.
However this was a Christmas present and has inspired me to look toward
a 4ch in the future.
Sadly, I tried flexing the blades for 30 seconds; played with the Pot on
the side for counter-acting spin on take off. It simply won't produce
any lift?
When I first got it, it'd get to about a metre off the ground and no more.
Think this £40 rc 2ch helicopter is destined for nearest bin..... :,(
Took it to a big park other day with my 3 young children, we stood and
watched as the rotor blades spun... no take off.
At least the micro 2ch helicopter I bought in the Jan sales buzzes
around the living room fine.
Some day I'll go for the more expensive variety.

Mike

Hi Mike - Sorry to hear of your experience but I really advise that you
don't give up. Like I said in a previous post, I started in November (2007)
by buying a EasyCopter. It cost £99 at Modelzone and I've got the bug - so
don't give up.
There may be an issue with the guarantee - you need to find out if you can
obtain the receipt then take the a/c back to the place of purchase.
1. The shop will argue that it there is no guarantee as the a/c can be
crashed causing un-identifiable damage. But you still have your statuary
rights.
2. The shop may be able to offer advice (the people who work in these places
are 'world experts' and they are keen to help).
3. The shop has a self-interest in solving the problem for you, because the
are advantages with promoting the hobby and on-going sales.
Sorry to rant on - but I've had so much enjoyment with this hobby and I
think you would too.

for just over £100 you can get a blade cx2 that will fly more or less
hands free straight out of the box

I bought one of these for my grandson had the sanme problem, got a new
battary and all was OK. On inspection of the battary that came with the
chopper one of the calls was leaking.
