Is the tail being driven properly. The MFA wasn't "high-tech"  and the drive
wire connections need the grub scres bearing down on a flat filed onto the
input and output shafts. If you don't do this, the drive wire will appear to
be driving the tail rotor, but the amount of slippage will be enough to stop
the tail rotor working efficiently.

Try holding the main rotor and physically turning the tail rotor with your
hand. If you CAN turn it, you've got slippage and that needs sorting.

Now a question or two..

Have you got arond 8 degrees of pitch on the tail rotor before ANY radio
inputs?
Have you got a gyro fitted?
Is the gyro orking in the correct sense?

Have you got an MFA sized rubbish bin that needs filling? :-)
