Where to buy

I need a hex start shaft that has a shaft length of 9 inches so the starter
cup sits above the rotor head when placed in position. There is not enough
room to tilt the shaft as it passes through the elevator control yoke which
only has a small hole and the amount of tilt required for my current shaft
makes the starter rub somewhere.

What you need my friend is a tool supply house where one can purchase
hexagon bar or even long "ball" ended Allen keys. Cut off the short end of a
long ball ended Allen key. A Dremel and a cut-off wheel do this superbly.

It's no biggie to carve out a ball shape at one of of a hex bar using
nothing more sophisticated than a bastard file either, so no f.cking
excuses, eh?

Norm Abrahams is THE man...  I wish I had his shop....  I'd be scratch
building helis out of walnut and rock maple....

I bought myself a new nailgun so I didn't have to swing a hammer this
past weekend hanging rafters on the poolhouse...

Isn't he just.

We had a TV ad on over here for The Discovery Chan and it included a guy in
a plaid check shirt with a false beard and safety glasses on. In a shed at
the bottom of his back garden surrounded by 20 more plaid check shirts (red,
of course). No mention was made of Norm or "This old" / "New Yankee
Workshop", but any words would've been redundant anyway.

I've done similar. A nail gun one weekend and a stapler/nail gun the next.
They sit alongside my circular saw, radial arm saw, jig saw, belt sander,
pillar drill, pillar sander, vibro saw and f.cking none of them get used:-)

Well ALMOST never. This week I need a chainsaw, so my gardener is getting me
one on Thursday (that's today now). I can hardly wait :-)

I use most of my tools on a regular basis.  My kids are contstantly
breaking/mangling stuff so it's a good part-time job fixing whatever
they've "altered"

Here's what I bought the new nail gun for:

My one and only has flown the coop, so I don't have many jobs to do these
days.

I can't wait until my kids finally move out.  I'll be able to keep
corner bead ding free, paint free of handprints and smudges and carpet
and furniture clean..

And imagine the money I can spend on helis then without having to feed
and clothe 'em!!!

Kev you think that when they move out its all over ? dream on the bills cost
even more when they run out of money and you have less control of what they
spend it on :-( That is if your conscience want let you let them get in to
the hands of the banks taking all there spare cash of them for charges etc.

The girls I'd be worried about.  My boy already has a couple grand in
his savings account and he's not even 12 yet..

Still, I'll be saving a ton on just food and toilet paper alone..  I'm
amazed how much a teenaged girl can eat in the course of a week.

With a boy, you only need to worry about one dick.  With girls, you
need to worry about all the dicks.  :)

If she's eating that much toilet paper you're noticing it, get her to a
doctor immediately. You know it makes sense.
