Honey Bee

Hi

I have just converted a Honey Bee to 2.4g using the original 4 in 1
(EK2-0702)
And removed the receiver part and replaced it with a Spektrum AR6100e

Can I use a 11.1v lipo battery without frying the electronics or motors or
should I stick with  a 7.4v lipo battery
It seems to me that the 7.4v runs out of puff a little quickly or are the
batteries suspect ?

Thanks

Hello,
Not hindered by any knowledge about todays helicopters, I can answer
that anyway:
If You run out of power, the solution of joice is not more tension (V)
but more capacity (Ah) i.e. the same number of fatter or
technologically more advanced battery-cells.
If You cannot buy that, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES join two
batteries parallelly i.e. + to + and - to - . A very small difference
in the batteries would then possibly result in high internal currents
and eventually destroy the unfitter one.

Greetings

Increasing volts can give you serious problems, so forget about it. Increase
the capacity of the batteries by all means (measured in ampere hours or
milliapmere hours) but not the volts. An increase in volts WILL give you
"something" though and that's more power and probably more speed, but
there's no such thing as a free lunch and the cost of this extra power and
speed is time. More volts means less flight time and possibly a nice fire
:-)

Thanks for your reply,
So I'll stay with 7.4 volts and forget about the fire

Sounds like a plan to me :-)
