Just a quick one.

Am currently assembling my new Raptor and was just about to do the blade Mod
and noticed that the covering material moves or wrinkles pretty easily. Can
only imaging what this material does under flight conditions :-(

Can this be removed in favour of paint? Which would also include a very
light sanding and rebalance..

Cheers

It can, but it's far easier to attack the covering with a hair dryer.
Painting can lead to massive imbalance and a shift of the chordwise C/G
rearwards which brings with it some serious tracking problems.

Sometimes a MAJOR rebalance too!

Get th' hair dryer out and re-shrink the tubing.

I bought myself a nice Black & Decker heat gun from B&Q for about £20 ;-)
Great for above, shrinking heat-shrink tubing, and removing labels from
parcels :-) (gotta be careful sometimes.. too close and your kits a
gonner!)

Bargain!!

You wana be real careful there, I hear a nasty rumour that those heat gun
things can be used for that strange pastime called 'decorating'. God forbid
the wife ever finds out about something like that! A waste of good heli
flying time;o)

Thanks for the advice guys.

I decided to remove shrink and just dope for now. I will replace with carbon
or glass when I am a confident flyer. If that's possible :-)

Just bought a full copy of RF G2. Wow is impressive.

I am not sure where you are located but here in the states the prices for
glass blades is like $28 vs. $22 or something for woodies.  Fly yours and
when you have your first crash replace them with glass ones.

Do NOT forget to remove the covering below the grips.

Just reshrink the covering with a heat gun or blowdryer. Just don't
get it too close or hold it in one place for too long.
