Hi, I'm, looking at making a mini rc helicopter, one that is as light as
possible for indoors flying.

Can anyone suggest a motor for the top prop and what gearing ratio to use?

I want it to lift at least a light chassis the motor itself, two 1/3 aaa
cells and the necessary prop?

Thanks

Without wanting to sound too picky, I'd suggest you do at least SOME
research into heli's. They don't have "top props" they have rotors and
deciding on ANY gearing would require we know substantially more than you've
given us. "A light chassis" could mean ANYTHING, because what WE consider
light could be a million miles away from what YOU consider light.

You could also consider looking at heli's like the Hummingbird and the
Picollo.
