smartech anyone?

i was gonna buy my girl a nitro smartech buggy, shees a nooby !-) r they
any good?
i know you get whachya pay for and considerin they are dirt cheap on
ebay......
any thoughts? comments? suggestions? free money?, or trade my g/f for a
revo.....

They sure are cheap. Before you splash out, try doing some web searches on
some common spares, eg spur gear, clutch parts, that sort of thing and see
if spares are around.

I think the main problem with the "less mainstream" brands is that since
fewer racers and RC gurus use them, there is a smaller, and less informed
pool of advice available for them. Some people relish the technical
challenge this provides, I am not one of them.

On the other hand, when something screws up on my Savage or Inferno, a
simple web search, usenet message or forum post invariably turns up someone
who has already solved the same problem with a pile of knowledgeable advice.
Since I am no genius myself, I decided that this was worth paying for and
chose "name" cars.

As to the intrinsic quality of the Smarttech's, I have no idea.

Don't know, never driven one.  What's smartech parts availability like
in your neighborhood?

I stopped by the Smartech booth at the Chicago show last year.  Seemed to
be a shoestring outfit, but their staff seemed to be good folks.
