I already own an og t-maxx that I've added a lot of hop-ups to as well as
upgraded to a .18 engine.  I really would like to get a street car to play
with but don't know which one.  Do I go for the belt driven or the shaft
drive cars?  I went to the RCX convention this past weekend and pretty much
liked the TC3.  Is this a good car for me or is there a better starter car
for me out there?  I don't know much about fixing the cars/trucks because
I'm not a "Mechanic" but I am mechanically inclined if you know the diff.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I just bought a TC3 2 weeks ago. It's awesome. I love it. I've driven
Losi's belt driven buggy, which is basically the same design for their
touring car. I have to say, the shaft is much better. Go with the TC3.
At the least, go with their team kit. You'll get some better parts and
a little more durability.

I've owned two TC3s (not cause they broke, but becuase I sold one to a
buddy so we could race) and I love them.  When people describe
Associated cars as "bombproof" they arent kidding.  As long as you
stick with the original plastic parts and dont get any graphite arms
and such, breakage should be few and far between.  If you really are a
beginner, I suggest the RTR, but I just loved building the kit if
thats your fancey too.
I do have one complaint, and its only because I love driving my cars
everywhere, and I drove my TC3 on the road before the street sweeper
came to get all the sand off the road from winter.  The opening for
the spur gear caught a few rocks locking the drivetrain, but a quick
wack on the bottom of the car upside down fixed the problem.
This is an awesome car, and you never have to worry about replacement
parts is you have half a hobby shop near you.
Just my opinion, but I dont like the losi car, because Losi tells you
that the belt should skip under breaking and that's fine, but in the
history of machines, when has a belt skipping been good for the car.
Also, that Losi car is a little too fragle for my driving :)
All in all, the TC3 is an awesome car.

Thanks for the 411.... I'll go get the TC3 RTR nitro and start having fun...
