Can't tell you much, but SG was an italian company that made quite good
cars in the 80's. I still have one of their 1:8 onroad cars, called SG
Space. It's a 3-belt car, from mid 80's, I suppose. Haven't run it in
2-3 years, but it still worked last time I tried. Wheels are somewhat
hard to find these days:)
Before Space they had a shaft drive model called Columbia, some pics of
it here:

History of SG - I've heard that they went down at some point, but later
the production continued under Mantua Models. They apparently still do
something:

(the Black One and Red One). I haven't seen the Black One or Red One in
live, but I saw a magazine article couple of years ago on one of them,
it looked 90% like my 20 year old Space :)

This car i have got was state of the art back then and is still very
good now it has tuned exhaust, K&N filter and lots more this car was
made to be thrashed i mean it can wheelspin in second gear and goes
about 70mph. It is also in full working order and is very lightweight
it also has disc brake and so much compression in the engine it needs
a 12 volt range rover battery and heavy duty starter box. Another
thing is the air intake is massive like i said this car has been made
to be thrashed and in 3min uses a large tank of nitro fuel.
My friends dad is into nitro cars and says it has been built
from scratch to offer amazing performance and in its day would have
been the the KING OF NITRO CARS could you tell me how much it is worth
because I want to sell it.

Hi;
I own an SG 1/8 scale gas car that I raced for 10 yrs, from 1980 t
1990. It was one of the fastest r/c cars on the flat track, beatin
Deltas, and Associateds. Many of the items on my car were one of's.
they came with a can rear muffler as they were set up for Super tiger 2
engines, then as it became more competitive, they made a round tune
pipe and I would run either Super Tigers or Picco engines in mine. The
we originally made with solid rear axles, but bent easily, I had to hav
mine made from titanium to make them last. Then about 1983 or so the
released a few differentials, and they were really good, could hold th
car to the track at near full speed. I made a lot of different radi
plated instead of the aluminum one that came with it, mostly o
fiberglass, and ran a tube battery pack down the center to balance th
car better. There cars also came with a solid front axle that woul
bend easy during a race, so they finally made a poly independent sprin
front end that really made it better. The gas tank on those cars ar
the best, could fill faster than on other cars in the race. I won a lo
of trophys with that car, and they are a lost style now, but I don'
think a better car was made back when this racing was so popular. I
required more skill as there were no advantages, just raw racing, an
handcrafting the parts yourself. Hope this helps and I am not sure wha
the car is worth, as not many parts exist, it was my first of 3 r/c fla
track cars back then, and by far the best and most fun to race.
regards;
