I'm in need of guidance folks. Should it be the HUGE Associated MGT or the
slightly smaller but devastatingly FAST Schumacher Menace - I really can't
decide - please help by giving your opinions.

Just my 2 cents worth, but my "reading between the lines" from the Menace
tests suggests that it might be pretty difficult finding somewhere where the
Menace could safely top out anyway. If that is the case, then the more
useful performance metric would be acceleration. On a loose surface, there
might not be that much difference. If bumps are involved you might even find
the monsters accelerate better due to keeping the tyres in good contact more
consistently.

I think that with the big name monster trucks, they will probably do 70%  of
what the Menace will do, but I doubt if the Menace will do 70% of what the
monsters will do.

I'd buy the MGT instead of the Menace because:
1) locally, Associated spare parts are much easier to find
2) monster trucks are more fun "in the backyard"
3) if you want to race sometime, there will probably be a
  monster truck class, but not a .21-powered 4WD(?) 1:10
  class

For some reason I can't not buy the menace -

I live on a farm with acres of land - plenty of space to explore the top end
speed.

I love the way it looks.

There's an abundance of spares available near me.

I'm not likely to get much more involved in racing than challenging the odd
kid in the park to a race with his £90 electric Subaru (which would be
massive fun!!).

The MGT still looks good but I think that it's a bit too big for what I
need - I can pretty much keep the menace in the back of my car for some fun
whenever I get the oppurtunity and still get my shopping in there!

Thanks for all of you help however..

Andy
